Mr. President,

The photo of money above, is a representation of the money we lost, through just 2 bus strikes, in 2009. The Ottawa Transit Strike, lasting 54 days, ending in February and the London, ON. Transit Strike, lasting 29 days, ending in December. The experts have estimated the cost of combined transit strikes, to exceed 1/2 a billion dollars, to the tax payers. These 3 links below are very informative.

When we tally up the entire total, of the country's labour disputes or the world's strikes and lockouts combined, we would need thousands, of these pictures of money, to represent our financial losses. We can't afford this way of living anymore. We desperately need change...not tomorrow but yesterday. I believe our future survival, depends on the decisions we make today.

Enlightenment is what the world needs now. Personally, I believe you and I need to have a chat. I'm curious Mr. President and I am sure, the entire world is waiting and wondering, to see just how you are going to react, to this much needed proposal. I await your reply, Sir.

Your friend,

Raymond Ford

P.S...Mr. President, I have gone to a great deal of trouble, to create this website and spent a lot of time and effort researching and organizing the facts, to help you and all the people of the world. I believe I have earned the respect due to me, for all of my caring efforts. If you don't mind, I'd like to "Quote" "Mitch Stewart, Director Organizing for America".
"Quote" "We could have simply sought to do things that were easy, that wouldn't stir up controversy. But changes that aren't controversial rarely solve the problem". Now I Know what I'm proposing is controversial, but it's a better idea than what anyone else has come up with. Considering the hundreds of billions or trillions of extra dollars, that would be generated, each year,  it's well worth the effort to implement.

Mr. President, I apologize if I have placed you in an awkward or difficult position, but I believe my chosen method of communication, was the most effective way, to get this important message to you. Also, if my unorthodox style of communication, is not to your liking, well, I'm hoping you're able to see the good, in my attempt to articulate my point of view.

Thank you Mr. President, for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Raymond Ford

 Mr. President,

Sorry to bother you Sir but, a concern has come up, which in my opinion, should be part of the analytical equation, on your part, as to automation of contract negotiations and working towards a free flow market place. I realize the jury is still out and has yet to decide on my proposal but, please keep in mind, Mr. President, that the idea of a free flow market place, brought about by automation of the contract negotiations, is already on the internet and I'm sure, my details and pages, have been copied many times over. Other politicians, local opposition and foreign, have been quietly interested, no doubt. Other places may implement these very simple steps, automation of contract negotiations, to increase their efficiency, productivity and an overall, more secure and stable market place. If other countries adapt quicker in implementing, automation of contract negotiations, this would give the competition the competitive edge/advantage, which may threaten our economy.

I thought this point to be very important, to the security of the United States.

Once again, thank you Sir.

Mr.President,

The river is distinguished from the other bodies of water, by it's shape and movement. When the river is dammed, at that point, the flooding changes the properties of the river and the river ceases to be a river, for as long as the Free Flow is obstructed. The exact same principal applies to the economy. It's just common sense. The fact is, this system will generate hundreds of billions or trillions of dollars extra each year, on a Global scale, through efficiency and increased productivity. The extra money in the hands of The People, will no doubt create purchasing power like never before. Of course the extra cash in the hands of the people, through spending and growth, will continuously be pumped back into the economy and ensure Free Flow, just like the river, respecting the laws of nature. And the side effect of Free Flow, brought about by, Automation of Contract Negotiations, incorporated into the contracts, is one of the most important points. People will no longer lose their jobs or businesses and homes, because of someone else's strike or lockout. Considering the overall cost, from hundreds of billions, to possibly trillions of dollars, to the taxpayers and economy, for all these strikes and lockouts, we really can't afford not to look at other alternatives. The potential of the Free Flow Economic System, demands our immediate attention!

What I call the invisible wheel was referred to as the "Invisible Hand" by Adam Smith, who was born June 05th, 1723 and died July 17th, 1790. Adam Smith was a Scottish moral philosopher and a pioneer of political economics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invisible_hand ...Recently added.

Thank you.

Mr. President,

One of the greatest contributes, from automation of contract negotiations is, it will automatically create an economic state of the art efficiency, previously unknown to the human race. You can take that to the bank.

Mr. President, I realise that from your perspective, I did not observe the usual protocol, in my style of communication.

I am officially requesting you overlook this lack of protocol, in the interest of the American People and the People of the World. This message is important enough to have warranted my actions. So please forgive the intrusion Sir and also please do consider my proposal.

There are those around, who are not trustworthy and may steer you the wrong way, in regards to myself.

If you have any pressing questions, please direct them to me personally.

Sir I need some form of confirmation that you are receiving this message?

Thank you.

The Invisible Wheel...Free Flow.

 A Lost Legacy.

New...Update: Wednesday, January 26, 2011

The bottom line is...the reason why we have labour disputes such as, lockouts and strikes is because of communication break down and then emotions take over and corrupt the process. With a fully automated system, communication break down becomes an impossibility, which in turn, creates a new alternate reality, changing the world for the betterment of mankind. I believe this system is so efficient and productive, it will end world hunger for the first time in man's history.

More food for thought.

Free Flow Economy. It's the Only way to go! The Invisible Wheel.

The Free Flow System.....This story on this site originally went up on the net December 8th & 9th, 2009 A.D.

Automation is the key to contract negotiations and perhaps the greatest stimulus package to our economy.

 President Barack Obama,

At any given moment, in the free world, you will find many strikes and lockouts. They are the equivalent to a spanner or a brick being thrown into the spokes of the wheel, surely effecting the efficiency of our economy by bringing the turn of progress to a halt.

Since Prime Minister Sir John A. McDonald, gave the trade union in Canada, the right to strike, back in 1872, things have changed considerably. Today our communities are economically linked, so that many business and people will be effected by other people's strikes and lockouts. Many people and businesses through no fault of their own, will lose their homes, businesses and jobs, all because of someone else's strike or lockout. We know that the Ottawa bus strike, which lasted 54 days and ended in February, 2009 and the London ON. bus strike, which ended in December, 2009, as well, has been estimated by the experts, at costing the combind economies, in excess of half a billion dollars. Can you imagine the cost of all the strikes and lockouts to the tax payers and governments, of the world? I'll bet it's a staggering amount in excess of hundreds of  billions to trillions of dollars, lost each year to none productivity, like strikes & lockouts, directly and indirecly.

It appears that all the strikes and lockouts create a condition I refer to as the Russian Roulette Style Economic Disaster. Until the governments of the world fix the problem through legislation, we need automation, where we could incorporate by consent of both sides, into the negotiated contract, the full formula of negotiations, including for example 3 stages of negotiations, starting with talks, followed by mediation, ending by binding arbitration. This system could be negotiated in the contract, to run continuously making negotiated settlements automatic and would make strikes and lockouts a thing of the past. We can be civilized and put the needs of the many ahead of the needs of the one or the few. Of course we can take the attitude, that this is an impossible dream that can never happen. It seems to me, if the strikes and lockouts are costing us a fortune, we really can't afford not to look at other alternatives. Longer term contracts would help to alleviate the congestion of too many short term contracts, example 12, 24 and 36 months. If too many contracts expire around the same time, it could derail the economic efficiency, within our economy and I suspect, it may cause a drop or down ward trend or may even cause a crash in the stock market. These questions need to be addressed.

The time has come to establish a committee to study this economic phenomenon. This is most definitely an out of the box forward thinking radical master plan... idea...no doubt! This idea could yet prove to be one of the greatest economic stimulus packages to our economy, the world has ever seen. The financial damage to millions of people losing their jobs, businesses and homes etc., all because of someone else's strike or lockout, is absolutely crazy and should be addressed by our governments immediately. Other businesses over the years have turned to automation, to reduce labour cost and create a far greater financial and economical efficiency.

I believe the need for automation by regulating and directing conduct and contract negotiations, is through legislation, either federally or provincially/state/wide, etc..,  needs to be created. The purpose of this email is to arouse curiosity and direct attention to this subject.  I hope you believe, I have brought to your attention, something of importance and I wish to encourage dialogue on the matter. Should you have any further questions regarding the automation of contract negotiations or anything relevant to the subject, please do not hesitate in contacting me at (226)663-3414 or of course by email...

Mr. President, thank you for your audience Sir and I look forward to meeting you one day.

The United States of America, is the first nation in the world's history, to obtain such great power, through the power of the people. Unlike the other Empires of the past, the United States of America has the love and support of it's people. As a result, America will never fall... Written by Raymond Ford, in 1977.

 Free Flow System

 The Only Way Forward...continued.

The economy is like a river flowing freely. When too much rubbish is thrown into the river, it creates obstacles, slowing the pace of the water's current. Eventually as the obstacles accumulate, growing to a dam,  they choke the river's flow, which will lead to flooding and bring the flow to a still or a circle, creating a pond or lake and eventually redirecting the flow in a different direction, causing damage, which would represent a recession or depression. So when too many labour disputes take place, it will interrupt or choke the efficiency, by breaking the stride, of our economy and causing a decline in trade, forcing a stock market reaction, creating more market instability, which can lead to huge financial losses. The situation at the moment, does not encourage growth but breeds fear. This is a serious concern for all of us.

It's at this point that the Russian Roulette Style Economic Disaster, which may effect a lot of innocent people, including, model citizens, who will lose their jobs or businesses, homes etc., all because of someone else's strike or lockout. Automation not only avoids this scenario and contract disputes, which will derail our economy, but it also offers political direction and economic stability, with overall economic security and optimism, without any extreme fluctuations. In other words, a much more civilized, stable & predictable economy and society. The hundreds of billions or trillions of extra dollars generated  yearly, on a global scale, would be put back into the economy by continued optimism and spending, continuously stimulating the economy.

It's quite simple really. We know it's the stock market that influences the market place and visa - versa, so all we need to do, is control the stock market, by keeping the stride of the market place flowing. You see, when the stride of the market place is disturbed or interrupted, by a lack of trading, due to too many strikes and lockouts, at that moment in time, not only will it force a reaction from the stock market, but it is an opportunity for other competitors, foreign business, suppliers, to step in and provide the goods and or services, taking full advantage of our local labour disputes. Then by the time the local labour disputes are settled, it will be too late to recover their lost financial ground, because the competitors, will have stolen the show, taking what would have been, our good fortune, to their city or country, which will also increase the amount, of the local financial losses, of our labour disputes and encouraging lay-offs, due to lack of work, because of lost business/contracts, which occurred during the strike or lockout. Then many people will apply for unemployment benefits, taking the cost of the labour disputes, even higher, contributing even more to the Dominos Effect. Now can you see the need, for the Free Flow System?

Personally, I prefer the Final Offer Arbitration, (FOA), which I would like to see it incorporated, into all contracts, as well as, all labour disputes resolved, before the existing contracts expire. Now that would be heaven sent! Believe it or not, this is possible and necessary, in maintaining an efficient, competitive and secure market place.

Automation of the contract negotiations, will also make us very competitive, for there will not be any cracks or openings, in our economy, for foreign competitors to slip in and steal the show, right from under our noses. Automation of all contract negotiations, will change us as a people and the world, for the better. The bottom line is...we need to break down all the dams in the river, to create a healthy free flow and all will benefit, better then it's ever been before, in our history. No doubt, this type of legislation, will add stability to our economy and the economy of the world.

The cost to implement this formula, Automation of Contract Negotiations, the Free Flow System, in the towns/cities, provinces/states or the world, is not money, but a strong desire to evolve. I believe this type of thinking, is morally and politically correct and most definitely our immediate future. These facts are indisputable, for the mathematics, tells it all! I'm suggesting, with the cooperation of all concerned, we can and must create a condition, where the desire to strike or lockout, is no longer desired and the only way to accomplish this, is to create a win win situation for all concerned, by creating legislation encouraging Automation of all Contract Negotiations..... The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the one or the few. Food for thought. This formula is so simple, that there would be more than enough extra money generated, to rebuild the world.

We can't afford to continue, on our present path, by allowing our politicians to lead us blindly, without foresight, allowing all these labour disputes, to continue, creating huge unnecessary debt . I believe this situation, is a growing threat to our national security and the security of the world. If you believe, the Free Flow System, is worth pursuing, I urge you to spread the word and contact your political representatives, media and friends and bring this idea to their attention, which I believe is the next step in our evolution. I believe they will thank you for doing so.... I know I will thank you and so will the world.Up until now, the need for Automation of Contract Negotiations, has not been recognized, nor has the solution been realized.

If the politicians, were to be held accountable and liable, to all the people financially effected around the world, by other people's strikes and lockouts, all because our politicians lacked foresight and good leadership judgement...political wisdom etc., then we'd see some fast action in addressing this serious concern.

Summary Conclusion and Recommendations,

When you analyze my proposal, Automation of the Contract Negotiations, you'll realize, the only thing different, is the fact, the system presently in use, meetings to talk, followed by meetings to talk with mediation service, ending in binding arbitration, is already in wide spread use and has been for many years but, it usually takes place, while there's a lockout or the employees are on strike and other people and businesses are effected. All I'm suggesting, is we take the system, of what we already have, organize and incorporate it, into the negotiated contract, creating a state of efficiency, second to none. How difficult can this be? Of course, the inspiring factor is, everybody benefits, from the Free Flow System, for we create a market, without any obstructions to it's flow, like a river without a dam. This system needs to run continuously in the contract, making negotiated settlements automatic, leaving strikes and lockouts,
obsolete.

Mr. President, my own family are victims, of this situation. They did everything the system asked of them and yet, through no fault of their own, the system failed them. You asked for our ideas and for our help, in building a stronger America. They say, you are all about change, well, here's your chance, to be the hero, Mr. President. I believe, you are the best chance we have, on this planet, to make the necessary changes, to ensure our survival, as free people, with security, dignity, integrity and quality of life, not just in America, but the entire world.

My proposal, the Free Flow System, I believe, is in the best interest of the public and the economy. I also believe, this system will change life on Earth, for the better, freeing up more of our precious time, to pursue other avenues of interest, by creating an automated state of the art efficiency.

This idea, of the Free Flow System , is my Christmas Gift, to the People of the World...Happy New Year!
 Sincerely,
 Raymond Ford

To all the Political Leaders and Everyone Else, I hope my message to the world, right here on the internet, has been successful, in demonstrating the effectiveness, of the Power of Automation.

Revolution: One Of The Examples of Definition... is, a far-reaching and drastic change, especially in ideas, methods, etc. Could this be the very first revolution, of the 21st century? I don't know but, for the world's sake, I hope so! If my idea and Christmas gift, to the world, ends up influencing political direction and the creation of legislation, helping to improve our economy's efficiency and competitiveness, as well as, encouraging a much more stable & secure existence, then I will have done my part, by helping my community and the world, grow and prosper. I believe it's this kind of cooperative spirit, that we need, to lead us into the 21st century.

Philosophically: It's interesting to observe, a common denominator, how all three, WE The People, The River, and The Economy, all need to be free, without obstruction, to the movement or flow.
The First Amendment, to the American Constitution, states, Congress, shall pass no law, abridging the freedom of speech or the press. This law guarantees, free flow of expression, which encourages creative growth, enabling our society to evolve.
The same, needs to be done, to our economy, by removing the dam from the river, we create, free flow. It's this free flowing energy, which appears to be the stimulating factor, supporting the laws of the universe, in all three comparisons. I believe, the Automation of Contract Negotiations or the equivalent to, is paramount, to the successful evolution, of our economy and society. More food for thought.

At present and for many decades, the economic system, with all it's obstructions, delays, detours and stops, has not favoured the majority, of the population. There are those, a minority, of very powerful and influential people, in the world, who would oppose this idea, of the Free Flow System , who may stand to benefit and profit, from all these obstructions, to the free flow, of the economy, influencing laws, in their favour, etc. Just like they oppose National Health Care. It is time for real change!

New Update...This video link below about Alex Jones Bilderburg Group certainly provides much food for thought.

Mr. President, Ladies & Gentlemen, Members of the Press,

Update: There appears to be some controversy on the net, as to original content. I don't claim to be the first person in the world, to have thought of Automation of contract Negotiations and the Free Flow System.
Although, my approach and resolution, to the equation, I believe is original.

There is also another question floating around on the net, as to what constitutes evolution? Please allow me to offer my views on the matter.

I believe, since there are many forms of evolution, example, there is technological, economical, or a human evolution and overall, as a society, we evolve, through sharing of knowledge, communication or technological advancements, as well as, a systems evolution, which all can influence, understanding, direction, ability, and our entire rate of evolution and existence.
The question of evolution, is quite complex, for it is a process of change for the better, which makes it transitional in a constant flow of change. Although, we can make an educated guess, speculate, etc. with many possible outcomes and of course, the most probable outcome, which is the most relevant here.
The decisions we make today, will shape our future of the world yet to come.

Even if we started small at first, for example, directing the automation, of all government/union contracts and setting targets and goals for further development, of the automation of contract negotiations. In my opinion, this most definitely, will accelerate the process, of this economic revolution, which in turn, will eventually lead to economic evolution, which will no doubt, influence the direction of our society's evolution.
More food for thought.

Sincerely,
 Raymond Ford

Edit Update: Saturday January 23rd, 2010 Time: 2:18 PM.

I find this website just below, quite informative.

   http://www.enterprisecorruption.com/?page_id=7

I have just recently, activated the membership and forum sections, allowing people to comment and join my website. I delayed this action, as to get better organized. I was hoping to get a much better response, from all the political officials but, to date, the usual position, of most of these politicians, has been the strategy of avoidance. I have written to specific important politicians, asking for their opinion and or support, including our own Mayor, Anne Marie DeCicco Best, City of London, ON. but, I have not had any show of interest, concern or response, to my inquiries, as of yet from most of them. The few that have inquired so far, I'd like to say thank you.

Perhaps, it may be time to re-evaluate our voting strategies. In the next election, whether it be federal, provincial/state or municipal, we may need to take a closer look at the politicians track record. The last thing we need, is main stream politicians, that are not open to new ideas. I believe main stream politicians, are really good at collecting their pay-cheques, although, when it comes to real vision and embracing real change, they could improve immensely. We need to support those people, leaders, politicians, who pursue "enlightenment" quality of life for all of us. It's what we can do for our community, country and the world, which I believe, is the highest form of quality of life, for this type of commitment, leads to a better tomorrow for all of us.

Once again, if you support my attempt, to make the world a better place, then I believe you should express yourselves clearly, in the next election and let these politicians know, that we want and need positive change.

I need everyone's help, to send a clear message to these politicians, that  everyone's constitutional rights, are very important. My grandfather served in the Royal Air Force, during World War II and my father served in the Royal Navy, and both have seen action . Also to, my father was a policeman, at the time of my birth. My family in Malta, have produced 2 Prime Ministers, including the first Prime Minister of Malta, one President, one State Senator/Monsignor Catholic Priest, as well as Police Commissioner and many various political positions. My Cousin, former Prime Minister, Dom Mintoff, of Malta, helped bring independents to Malta and most definitely played a major roll in making Malta a Republic and independence took place September, 21st, 1964.  My family have served and fought hard, to ensure our freedom.

I have gone out on a limb to try and help society grow and prosper. Our history shows when someone tries to change the world for the better, they're usually assassinated . There are several photos of famous people on my website, who have tried to change the world and they all met a bullet with their name on it. This supports my statement.

Regarding my website's  URL address being censored or blocked, to search engines,  I do not deserve this type of treatment , although, there may be those, who may not appreciate or want life changing ideas circulating and inviting possible or probable major changes. What I am promoting is not rubbish but, intelligent  information that,  many people appreciate and in my opinion, this is in the best interest of the public and our economy.

I am requesting that the governments of both Canada and the U.S.A., investigate these circumstances of why my website URL  may be censored or blocked, for it is a direct violation of my constitutional rights... freedom of speech.

Thank you to everyone who have supported my efforts.

With God's help, we will triumph. Remember my brothers and sisters, we can make a real difference. Believe!

Today marks 40 years passed, since Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. Please do have a look at the anniversary video, in the video section.

Yesterday my sister, Monica Panzavecchia Reali, said something beautiful on Facebook, which compelled me to share this with you. "Quote"  "A smile is a language that even a baby understands."

We may need to remind ourselves from time to time, the true meaning of life...which is... "Quote" "To love and be loved"....

"Life without love, is meaningless, for love completes. It's the love of life, which creates quality of life."

God Bless the World.

The White House, Washington

Good morning,
For over 40 years, the President of the United States has awarded the Citizens Medal -- the second highest civilian honor in our nation -- to Americans who have "performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens."
Now for the 2010 Citizen's Medal, the White House is opening up the process to include an exciting source of nominations: you.  President Obama is inviting the American public to nominate candidates he should consider for the Presidential Citizens Medal -- truly making this an honor of, by, and for the American people.
Who has inspired you?  Whose selfless dedication to service has touched your life or the lives of others?
Watch the President explain the program in this web video and then nominate an unsung hero from your community:

Learn More
Past winners of this prestigious honor have included respected public figures like Colin Powell, Bob Dole and Rosa Parks, as well as everyday heroes like Oseola McCarty, a washerwoman who left her entire life savings to establish a scholarship for students in need. As you can tell, the bar is set pretty high -- only a handful of nominees will be chosen, so be sure to read the criteria closely and make the best case you can for your nominee.
This year, the President will be looking for several qualities in the special few he honors: people who have demonstrated a commitment to service in their own community or in communities farther from home; who have helped their country or their fellow citizens through one or more extraordinary acts; whose service relates to a long-term or persistent problem; or whose service has had a sustained impact on others’ lives and provided inspiration for others to serve. While many Americans work every day to serve others, this year's Citizens Medal will specifically honor those who have shown exemplary service to help others outside of their normal jobs.
Take a moment to nominate that everyday hero for the Presidential Citizens Medal and help honor his or her unwavering commitment to service.
Nominations will be reviewed by White House staff. The most compelling of these nominations will be sent to the President for his final decision.  Then late this spring, Citizens Medal recipients will be invited to receive their awards in a ceremony at the White House.
Thank you,
Michelle

First Lady Michelle Obama
The White House

P.S. Right now we are only planning to keep the nominations process open for one week. So don't miss your chance to recognize someone amazing from your community.

Yesterday's disappointing election results show deep discontent with the pace of change. I know the OFA community and the President share that frustration.

We also saw what we knew to be true all along: Any change worth making is hard and will be fought at every turn. While it doesn't take away the sting of this loss, there is no road to real change without setbacks along the way.

We could have simply sought to do things that were easy, that wouldn't stir up controversy. But changes that aren't controversial rarely solve the problem.

Our country continues to face the same fundamental challenges it faced yesterday. Our health care system still needs reform. Wall Street still needs to be held accountable. We still need to create good jobs. And we still need to continue building a clean energy economy.

The President isn't walking away from these challenges. In fact, his determination and resolve are only stronger. We must match that commitment with our own.

But it won't be easy. Real change never is. For that reason, I am grateful you're part of this fight with us.

Thank you,

Mitch

Over 40 years ago, I stood with Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. on the steps of the U.S. Capitol during the March on Washington. Tomorrow, our nation will commemorate his life and work.

I recorded a short video about what this day means to me and all Americans.
Please watch it today.

Watch and share my MLK Day message

Dr. King's words inspired me to join the civil rights movement and begin my own fight for a more just and equal nation.

Tomorrow is a day to honor his legacy and reflect on how far we've come.

But it's also a day to rededicate ourselves to building an America where all are treated equally and every eligible American can cast a ballot and have it counted.

Please watch and share today:

A historic moment

Raymond --

Although it's Christmas Eve, I wanted to share some exciting news: The Senate just passed a historic health reform bill.

In all the back and forth, it's easy to lose sight of what this incredible breakthrough really means. But consider this: This Christmas, there are millions of Americans without health insurance who risk losing everything if they get sick.

There are mothers and fathers who wonder how they'll provide for their children because an illness has wiped out their savings. There are small business owners who worry that they'll have to lay off a long-time employee because the cost of insurance is rapidly rising.

If we finish the job, all this can change. We will have beaten back the special interests who have for so long perpetuated the status quo. We will have enacted the most important piece of social policy since the Social Security Act in the 1930s, and the most important health reform since Medicare in the 1960s.

In Decembers to come, millions more will have access to affordable coverage. Parents will have the security and stability of knowing their insurance can't be revoked at a moment's notice. And the skyrocketing costs plaguing our small businesses will be brought under control.

When you make calls, write letters, organize, this is the change you're making -- a better life for your family and for men and women in every state.

There is still more to do before I can sign reform into law -- a last round of negotiations and final votes in the Senate and the House -- and I'm counting on your help every step of the way. But for now, I hope that as you celebrate this holiday season, you remember that the work you are doing is making our union more perfect, one step at a time. For that, I am grateful to you.

Merry Christmas and happy holidays,

President Barack Obama

P.S. -- Supporters of reform are signing a note of appreciation to all the senators who have worked so hard to make this possible. I hope you'll join them:

State of the Union

Raymond --

On Wednesday evening, President Obama will deliver his first State of the Union address. It comes at a critical moment.

We must regroup, refocus, and re-engage on the vital work ahead. So let's watch it together at a State of the Union Watch Party in your neighborhood.

Find and RSVP for a Watch Party

We've hit some serious bumps in the road recently in our march toward change. We always knew it would be difficult, but this past week has definitely been a hard one, for all of us.

But this movement didn't come so far without making it through some challenging times. It's at moments like these when we need you most. People are hurting. Our country is at a crossroads, and in communities like yours all across America we must all fight for the progress our families and businesses need to thrive.

The President's resolve has never been stronger to keep fighting for health insurance reform, for lasting job creation, and to rein in the big banks and fight the undue influence of lobbyists. Wednesday's speech will be a pivotal moment for us all to get on the same page and continue the fight together.

In just two days, OFA supporters like you will be gathering at State of the Union Watch Parties in living rooms and community centers across the country. You can share ideas and experiences -- and I'll be joining on the phone for a special strategy huddle before the speech.

Find and RSVP for a State of the Union Watch Party near you:

I hope you can join us,

David Plouffe

P.S. -- Volunteers have set up hundreds of Watch Parties over the last few days. But if there isn't one yet near you, just sign up to host one yourself. It's easy and fun, local OFA organizers will help you with any questions you have, and it's an incredibly important way to let supporters near you be part of the action:

January Update   Sign In
It's a tale of two speeches. On one hand, top officials say President Obama will use his first State of the Union address to hit the issue of jobs hard by pressing his vow to keep "fighting" for the middle class -- spending new money on everything from child care to student loan assistance and sending signals to liberals that he's not giving up the battle for health care reform. On the other hand, top officials also say a key theme will be fiscal discipline, as Obama tries to get tough on those very same liberals and tack to the political center by pushing a freeze on non-security discretionary spending for the next three years -- including a symbolic move to hold the line on the salaries of senior White House officials.
